A portable terminal having a biaxial hinge device is provided to enable one housing to be placed in an upper side or a side of the other housing by providing a couple of housings which are extended to cross at right angles, thereby securing the reliability of the terminal. A hinge apparatus(100) provides the first and second axes which are extended to cross at right angles. When the second housing is opened by being rotated around the first axis(A1), the hinge apparatus(100) restricts the second housing so as not to be rotated around the second axis. When the second housing is opened by being rotated around the second axis, the hinge apparatus(100) restricts the second housing so as not be rotated around the first axis(A1).
