<p>The device has a handle (50) mounted pivotally to a support (2) that is fixed to a cap of a kitchen utensil and a locking mechanism for locking the handle in a usage position. The mechanism has a locking ring (40) mounted translationally and co-axially to a rotation axle of the handle. The rotation axle is formed by an annular bulge (12) of the support and periphery (77) of thrust bearing (70) fixed on the support, where the annular bulge corresponds to a hollow cylinder (54) of the handle. The ring slides between the support and bearing against the force of a helical spring (32).</p>
