<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem of the reliability of an apparatus and a customer service, wherein it is difficult for a conventional media processor to accurately discriminate banknotes, having the degraded rigidity and the banknote is wrongly returned to a customer as a normal banknote. <P>SOLUTION: The media processor has a banknote irradiated with ultrasonic waves, resonates the banknote, finds the natural frequency of the banknote from the resonance frequency and discriminates degradation in the rigidity of the banknote, by comparing it with the natural frequency of the normal banknote. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
