PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone whereby a plurality of programs can be browsed.

SOLUTION: A cradle 2 records a program of television broadcast instructed by the mobile phone 3. The recorded program is converted into thumbnail image data and text data on the basis of metadata generated by a metadata generating server 6. The thumbnail image data and the text data are cross-referenced with each other by means of time information. The cradle 2 supplies all the data above to the mobile phone 3. When receiving an instruction from a user, the mobile phone 3 displays the thumbnail image and the text corresponding to the thumbnail image on a display section. The user can grasp contents of the program by browsing the displayed thumbnail image and the displayed text. The technology disclosed herein is applicable to mobile phones.
