<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the scattering of toner stuck to the surface on a transport member side of a recording body and irregularities in an image are suppressed by suppressing separating discharge to the surface on the transport member side of the recording body. <P>SOLUTION: The recording body P is self stripped from a second intermediate transfer belt 31, when the recording body P is transported to a first separation region A by the second intermediate transfer belt 31. At this time, the top end of a static elimination brush 110 arranged in the curvature region A comes into contact with the recording body P.
