PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image evaluation device capable of evaluating an image reflecting photographer's sensitivity while the evaluation is is objective. SOLUTION: An image evaluating part 7 calculates a grade for each of a plurality of evaluation items and performs addition by performing weighting to thereby calculate an overall evaluation. By correcting evaluation reference for each evaluation item on the basis of the degree of preference obtained from a setting storing part 4 at that time, a grade reflecting the degree of user's preference is calculated. Even though a weighting storing part 5 stores reference weighting of reference for each photographing mode, a weighting operating part 6 corrects the weighting on the basis of significance obtained from the setting storing part 4 and outputs the corrected weighting to the image evaluating part 7.
