PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery capable of preventing opening of a caulked part of a battery lid and a battery container, and securing electric connection and action of a gas drain valve. SOLUTION: The lithium-ion secondary battery 20 has a battery lid 8 caulked to a battery can 7 having parallel plane parts 4 on side faces, and has an opening stopper 1 having a center part 1a located above the battery lid 8 and leg parts 1b bent from the center part 1a along either side of the plane parts 4 so as to be astride the battery lid 8. The leg parts 1b are in contact with the plane parts at either side, a lower end parts of the leg parts 1b are jointed to the plane parts by resistance welding over a length of 70% or more in a longitudinal direction of the plane parts 4.
