PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of achieving generation of shading correction data for each camera with simple configuration at low cost. SOLUTION: In a camera manufacturing step, each camera to which a zoom position and an aperture diameter for maximizing the effect of shading are set photographs a surface light source with a uniform luminance. A resize section 22 applies reduction processing to a photographed image to create a thumbnail picture. A maximum value of Y data of the thumbnail picture is found out. Then coefficients whereby each pixel has the same maximum value as above are calculated and stored in a ROM 26 as two-dimensional shading correction data corresponding to the position of each pixel. The data are used for reference correction data. Then each camera carries out similar photographing at each zoom position and each aperture diameter, for example, at five equal divisions of the total focal distance and the shading correction data by each zoom position are created.
