PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify a Ni powder of which the application is limited due to its magnetism, into a Ni powder free from magnetism, and to increase an extent of applications. SOLUTION: The method for producing the nickel powder having an hcp structure includes reducing Ni ions dissolving in a polyol with the polyol in the presence of a nucleus inductive agent such as hexachloroplatinic(IV)acid to precipitate fine particles of metallic Ni in a liquid.
