PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that in an acid treatment process in a saccharification process of a concentrated acid treatment of a lignocellulose-based raw material and a recovery process of a lignophenol derivative and a saccharide from a lignocellulose-based raw material, an abrupt rise in viscosity and local rise in temperature occur at the initial stage of mixing the lignocellulose-based raw material with the acid. SOLUTION: In the acid treatment method by which a lignocellulose-based substance is mixed with an acid to saccharify a holocellulose, as a mode, in an acid treatment process in a process by which a phenol derivative is adsorbed on the lignocellulose-based substance and then the lignocellulose-based substance is treated with an acid to give a saccharide/acid mixed liquid containing a lignophenol derivative, the lignocellulose-based substance or the phenol derivative-adsorbed lignocellulose-based substance is added to and mixed with an acid solution while stirring the acid solution. In the operation, the feed amount of the lignocellulose-based substance or the phenol derivative-adsorbed lignocellulose-based substance to the acid solution is regulated so as to keep the mixed liquid in a liquid state.
