PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module with increased effective area. SOLUTION: An annular outer frame 51 and a support plate 52 having cutout parts 55 are used as an annular support frame 50 disposed at both ends of a cylindrical body 11. Thus, a protective tube 61 can be fitted into the cutout parts 55 to increase the packed number of the hollow fiber membranes 15 by that increment to increase the effective area.
