PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire door closing apparatus whose parts are hardly damaged by repeating the switching action, and to stabilize the switching action of the fire door for a long term. SOLUTION: The fire door closing apparatus 10 is mainly equipped with two kinds of devices; an electric holding or release device 12 which retains or releases the fixing of the arm 11 according to an energization condition, and a manual discharge device 13 which releases the fixing of the arm 11 according to the external force of the fire door closing direction added to the fire door 103. The fixing maintenance strength of the arm 11 incorporated in the manual release device 13 is set smaller than the fixing maintenance strength of the arm 11 incorporated in the electric holding or discharge device 12. The manual release device 13 functions to close the fire door 103 when the artificial closing force is added from the outside, and the electric holding or release device 12 functions to close the fire door 103 when an electric signal is given by cutoff (or energization) in emergency.
