PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake-resistant device for preventing falling or excessive shaking of furniture, equipment, or the like in earthquake, and having an optimal shock-absorbing function according to the size or weight of the equipment. SOLUTION: The earthquake-resistant device 10 includes a plurality of stacked adhesive shock-absorbing mats 20A and 20B, and an intermediate plate 30 interposed between the mats 20A and 20B and evenly dispersing the load into the mats when the shock of the earthquake is applied. The intermediate plate 30 is opened with a hole portion 31 to securely hold the intermediate plate 30 between the mats. The assembly of the adhesive shock absorbing mats 20A and 20B and the intermediate plate 30 interposed in between is stored and held in a holder frame 110 for easy handling. The number or thickness of the adhesive shock-absorbing mats is adjusted by the weight or the like of the equipment to ensure effective shock absorption. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
