<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to determine whether the welded condition of the resistance welded part between the cells of a lead acid battery is acceptable or not by a non-destructive inspection without depending on a destructive inspection. <P>SOLUTION: A group of electrodes 206 provided with connectors 205 are housed in a plurality of cell chambers 204 partitioned by a barrier plate 203 in a battery jar 202. In the group of electrodes adjoining each other through the barrier plate, the connectors provided in the group of the electrodes are made to face each other through a through hole 211 provided in the barrier plate, and the connectors are forced into contact with each other by pressurizing these connectors by energizing electrodes 102. When applying resistance welding between the connectors by supplying a welding current between the energizing electrodes, the temperature (T1) of the connectors is measured before energizing them, the temperature (T2) of the connectors is measured after a prescribed time has elapsed sine energizing is finished, the welded part is determined whether it is acceptable or not based on the temperature (T1) and the temperature (T2). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
