<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device capable of performing successful image display by suppressing flicker due to periodicity of scanning line selection, a method for driving the same and an electronic device having the organic EL device. <P>SOLUTION: The organic EL device has a plurality of scanning lines, a plurality of data lines extending in a direction perpendicular to the scanning lines, light emitting elements arranged according to intersections between the scanning lines and the data lines and a driving device for them. The driving device divides one frame into a plurality of subframes SF1-SF4 and into an auxiliary subframe SF5 according to the number of gradations expressed by an image signal to be supplied to the data lines, controls light emission of the light emitting elements using the subframes as a unit and non-sequentially selects and drives the scanning lines so that selection timing of each of the subframes by every scanning line can become irregular. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
