<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for laser beam machining, which method is suitable for machining a composite material. <P>SOLUTION: The composite material is prepared so as to include a first region made of a first material and a second region made of a second material having an optical absorption coefficient different from that of the first material. Then, a part of the composite material is removed by irradiating the composite material with a laser beam having a first wave length. After that, a part of the composite material is further removed by irradiating the region of the composite material, from which the region, a part of the composite material is already removed, with a laser beam having a second wave length different from the first wave length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
