<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device capable of efficiently monitoring a desired survey range. <P>SOLUTION: Laser beams are irradiated toward the sea ahead of the course of a ship by a light transmitting section 10, and the reflected light of the laser beams are imaged by a light receiving section 20. An image acquired by the light receiving section 20 is displayed on a monitor 41. Conditions on the sea and in the sea can thereby be confirmed as visible information. In this case, the width of an irradiation area of the sea surface irradiated with the laser beams emitted from the light transmitting section 10 is set to be not less than the width of a survey area set along the course of the ship. Survey in the width direction can thereby be carried out with one-time laser irradiation without scanning the laser beams in the width direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
