PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a palatal plate for persons having troubles with their hands and legs, which is free from undesired consumption of a secondary battery, and does not impose an excessive burden on users. SOLUTION: A palatal plate storage box (10) includes a casing(12) and a lid (14) both of which consist of a shading material, and the palatal plate (22) is held in the casing by a locking fixture (20). A light receiving portion (42) is formed on an inner face at a curved side of the palatal plate, and an LED (24) is provided at a position where light is irradiated to the light receiving portion. When the palatal plate is held in the casing and the LED turns on, the light enters into the palatal plate through the light receiving portion. Optical switches (58, 60 not illustrated) are provided in a power circuit (32, not illustrated) of the palatal plate, and when the light enters through the light receiving portion, the optical switches thus constituted intercept supply of a power source from an output of the secondary battery. When held in the storage box, the power source is intercepted by emitting the light to the light receiving portion from the LED, by which undesired consumption of the secondary battery is prevented. When the palatal plate is used, the light does not enter from the light receiving portion, by which the optical switches turn on, and the power source is supplied automatically.
