PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly efficient synchronous induction motor by making it difficult to pass fluxes in a q-shaft direction without blocking a magnet passage in a d-axis direction and by increasing a salient-pole gap. SOLUTION: A slit adjacent to a shaft 5 is enlarged to a shaft side along a periphery of the shaft 5 to make it a slit enlargement portion 8a. A vent hole 7 is formed as an elongated opening extended in the d-axis direction to project the slit along the periphery of the vent hole 7. Besides, the vent hole 7 is formed by the elongated opening extended in a direction shifted by a prescribed angle to the d-axis direction. Moreover, a rotor iron core 1 is composed of a plurality of rotor iron core sections in a laminating direction to form the slits in various shapes for respective rotor ion core sections.
