PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat dissipation efficiency without giving a user carrying a device unpleasant feeling caused by to heat. SOLUTION: In the portable electronic device having heat generators 41, 42 in an external appearance cover 10, a portion of the cover 10 near the heat generators 41, 42 is composed of a heat dissipating plate 61 having thermal conductivity higher than that of the other portion, the external surface of the plate 61 is shielded by a covering wall 62 having thermal conductivity lower than that of the plate 61, and a heat dissipating passage is secured for communicating with a space between the covering wall 62 and the plate 61 with an outside space.
