PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup capable of reducing the number of components and achieving a compact and lightweight form by eliminating the necessity of separately providing a permanent magnet constituting a magnetic circuit in an optical pickup having a shaft for supporting a movable part. SOLUTION: In the optical pickup 1, a movable part 3 is supported by a shaft 4 to move in focusing and tracking directions. The shaft 4 itself is made of a permanent magnet, a focus coil 7 constituting a shaft facing coil is arranged in the magnetic field of the shaft to face the outer peripheral surface of the shaft around the shaft.
