PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device in which an influence of storage charge reduction on an image display is alleviated. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device in which an image is displayed with an electrophoretic element is equipped with: the electrophoretic element mounted on each pixel; a thin film transistor to drive the electrophoretic element; and a storage capacitor to store voltage applied to the electrophoretic element. The electrophoretic element includes: a pixel electrode 17 independently mounted for each pixel; a common electrode 220 electrically common to a plurality of pixels; and an electrophoretic material interposed between the pixel electrodes and the common electrode. The thin film transistor TFT includes: a drain electrically connected to a signal line 23; a source electrically connected to the pixel electrode 17; and a gate electrode 14a electrically connected to a scanning line. The storage capacitor includes: a first storage capacitor electrode; a second storage capacitor electrode; and a storage capacitor dielectric film disposed between the first and second storage capacitor electrodes.
