PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a high-property drawn filament at a high draw ratio to be easily and continuously obtained without requiring a special, high-accuracy and high-level apparatus by a simple means; and to provide a means for drawing a multifilament, a functional filament, a high-modulus filament or the like having the high properties at the high draw ratio. SOLUTION: The filament with the high properties is produced at the high draw ratio by heating a raw filament with bundles of far infrared rays from several positions, drawing the filament at a constant draw ratio of five times or more by a taking-up device, and gradually decreasing the output of the bundles of the far infrared rays so that the properties may be most suitable.
