PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a range of paper feeding operation time controllable to set a feeding operation time to a predetermined time, and to avoid a temporary stop regardless of the length of the feeding operation time. SOLUTION: This control device for a paper feeding device is constituted to accelerate the speed of a lateral carrier roller in a predetermined first accelerating pattern simultaneously with the start of feeding a sheet from a state of rotating the lateral carrier roller at a predetermined initial speed beforehand to be≤1/3 of a final control speed corresponding to the speed of a following conveying line.
