PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder having a simple structure which is less in trouble when feeding paper sheets. SOLUTION: The sheet feeder comprises a back side supporting part 126 to hold a recording paper sheet 160 from a back side while urging the recording paper sheet in the predetermined direction parallel to the surface thereof, an end face supporting part 122 to hold an end face of the recording paper sheet 160 against the urging, an extruding part 124 which presses a part in a vicinity of the end face of the recording paper sheet 160 from the back side to extrude the end face from the end face supporting part 122, and a feed roller 210 which is circumferentially brought into contact with a surface of the recording paper sheet 160 extruded from the end face supporting part 122 and rotated to feed the recording paper sheet 160. In addition, the end face supporting part 122 has a slide limiting part 300 to limit the slide of the end face of the recording paper sheet 160 on the surface of the end face supporting part 122 in the extruding direction by the extruding part 124 at the position farther from the feed roller 210 in the width direction of the recording paper sheet 160.
