AIR BAG DEVICE FOR FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT

An air bag device for a front passenger's seat capable of sufficiently absorbing an external force applied to an instrument panel despite the fact the structure of the air bag device is simple. The air bag device comprises an air bag stored in an inflatable and developable state, an air bag container fixed to a vehicle and storing the air bag, a cover covering the upper part of the air bag container, and a gas feed part feeding an expansion gas for inflating and developing the air bag. The cover comprises a cover surface part approximately flush with the instrument panel and a cover extension part extending from the cover surface part to the inner side of the air bag container in a direction perpendicular to the cover surface part. A plurality of elongated locking holes are formed in the cover extension part. A plurality of hooks extending roughly vertically to the side face of the air bag container and slidably inserted into the locking holes are fitted to the side face of the air bag container.
