<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the deterioration of display balance caused by the changes with time or the like in a stereoscopic picture display device. <P>SOLUTION: The stereoscopic picture display device has: a picture display means 1 for displaying a parallactic picture comprising a picture for a right eye and a picture for a left eye on a display surface 18; and a parallactic picture selection means 2 for making only the picture light of the picture for the right eye out of the parallactic picture reach observer's right eye and only the picture light of the picture for the left eye out of the parallactic picture reach observer's left eye, and is equipped with light receiving means 23 and 24 for receiving the picture light directly reaching the observer's eyes; a display balance detecting means for detecting the display balance of the parallactic picture from the result of light detection by the light receiving means; and a display balance correction means for correcting the display balance of the parallactic picture based on the result of detection by the display balance detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
