CELLULOSE ESTER FILM, POLARIZING PLATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellulose ester film that is stably drawn even in a high draw ratio, has sufficient planarity as a polarizer protecting film and satisfies plasticizer retention and low birefringence and to provide a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display that use the cellulose ester film and have excellent stability.

SOLUTION: The cellulose ester film is obtained by melt film-forming of a composition consisting essentially of a cellulose ester. The cellulose ester satisfies formula (1) 2.4≤X+Y≤2.8 and formula (2) 0.3≤Y≤1.3 (X is a substitution degree by acetic acid; Y is a substitution degree by a 5-22C straight-chain carboxylic acid).
