PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decomposition treatment method and a decomposition treatment system of an organic halogen compound which can easily detoxify an oil mixed with the organic halogen compound like an insulating oil used for a pole transformer in a short time, saves the trouble of removing a catalyst and is unlikely to form side reaction products. SOLUTION: In the decomposition treatment method of the organic halogen compound, a liquid mixture composed by adding a hydrogen donor and an alkali compound to the organic halogen compound-containing oil filled or stored in the pole transformer is passed through a first catalyst filling device installed inside the pole transformer, a part of the liquid mixture is irradiated with microwaves while being continuously passed through a second catalyst filling device installed inside a microwave device outside the pole transformer and is then returned into the pole transformer, and thus the oil is detoxified. The decomposition treatment system using the microwaves combinedly includes at least the first catalyst filling device equipped with a decomposition catalyst for the organic halogen compound, a supply means which supplies the oil or the like to it, and the second catalyst filling device.
