PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for supporting driving of a driver to a destination by a method different from guide of a route guide to the destination. SOLUTION: This vehicle navigation device accepts input of the destination and a simplified guide timing (step 110 and 120), then specifies repeatedly the present position of own vehicle and the present direction of own vehicle (step 125), and specifies a linear distance from the own vehicle position to the destination and a relative azimuth from the own vehicle position to the destination based on the own vehicle direction, based on map data (step 130). At every time when the accepted simplified guide timing comes (step 150), the navigation device outputs the linear distance and the relative azimuth to the destination specified just before, repeatedly from a speaker 14 (step 160).
