PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which can meet the need of high speed and also can prevent the occurrence of wrinkles even when fixing an image on an image support member like paper containing water. SOLUTION: The fixing device of an image forming apparatus for fixing a toner image of a single layer or a plurality of layers on the image support, is characterized in that an endless belt stretched by a plurality of rolls is disposed on a side of the image support member, which is brought into contact with the toner image, and pressure members are provided in positions where the image support member is pressed to counter rollers disposed on the inside of the endless belt, out of the plurality of rolls stretching the endless belt, through the endless belt, and the counter rolls are provided with an elastic layer.
