PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a silica glass product precisely, inexpensively, and productively. SOLUTION: The method for producing a silica glass product comprises casting a silica glass slurry having an average particle diameter of 6 to 15μm and a solids concentration of 70 to 85 mass% into a mold, subjecting the casting to decontamination after drying, and vitrifying it by heating to a high temperature on a glassy-carbon-coated and/or -impregnated carbon support.
