PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a good vapor deposited film which is excellent in adhesiveness, solvent resistance, and gas barrier property after a boiling process and so forth. SOLUTION: At least on one surface of a polyester film, an anchor coat agent is applied, and then, the polyester film is drawn in at least one direction, to form a coating layer. The surface roughness Rms of the coating layer is 0.7 to 6 nm, and also, the surface roughness Rms after removing low frequency components of the surface unevenness is 0.5 nm or less, for the base material polyester film for this vapor deposited film.
