PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the rewriting of a control program of an image forming device by effectively utilizing hardware resources. SOLUTION: In this tandem type color image forming device, a program rewriting device is connected with an external connector of a video I/F 300, and a pseudo beam detecting signal is formed based on a mode switching signal 201 which is allotted to one terminal of the connector. Then, the control program is transferred to a memory for correcting a skew color shift based on a main scanning direction synchronizing signal formed based on the pseudo beam detecting signal, a subsidiary scanning direction image effective signal, and the transfer clock of the video I/F 300, and the rewriting of a flash ROM 319 is performed.
