PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a segment chip capable of maintaining a stable abrasion shape of the segment chip by preventing generation of local abrasion of the segment chip and enhancing working accuracy, and to provide a cutting grinding wheel using the segment chip. SOLUTION: An inner layer 13 comprising an abrasive grain 11 and a binder 12 is formed so as to have an inclined surface relative to a direction becoming a rotation direction when it is mounted to a substrate 2. Temporary molding is performed by applying a pressure to the inner layer 13. Thereafter, outer layers 14 are joined to both sides of the inner layer 13 by a bond relative to a direction perpendicular to the direction becoming the rotation direction at grinding and is sintered. The outer layer 14 is also formed so as to have an inclined surface relative to the direction becoming the rotation direction when it is mounted to the substrate 2. When the inner layer 13 and the outer layer 14 are joined to each other, the whole of the segment chip 3 has a shape so as not to have an inclined surface. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
