PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand drying apparatus used in washrooms, toilets or others requiring only machining process of water receiving portion surface without requiring great structural alteration, and capable of preventing waterdrops blown off from hands from splashing again from a water receiving portion after the waterdrops blown off from the hands attach to the water receiving portion. SOLUTION: The hand drying apparatus 7 has a warm wind generating means 3 comprising a blower unit 1 and a heater body 2 arranged in a body, a discharge nozzle 4 discharging warm wind from the warm wind generation means 3, a hand inserting portion 5 under the discharge nozzle 4, and a water receiving portion 6 under the hand inserting portion 5, hydrophilic surface treating is applied to the water receiving portion 6, thereby when the waterdrops blown off from the hands attach to the water receiving portion 6, they do not become waterdrops due to hydrophilicity subsequently to prevent them from splashing from the water receiving portion 6, the hand drying apparatus 7 capable of suppressing a cost can be obtained without the great structural alteration.
