<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting optical panel which detects stripe defects, existing within an image displayed by an optical panel and which determines the rank, according to the state of the stripe-shaped defects. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes a stripe-shaped defect detection step (ST100) for detecting the stripe defects existing in the display image by a liquid crystal light valve; a continuity determination step (ST200) for determining whether the stripe defects detected by the stripe-shaped defect detection step (ST100) have continuity with each other; and a rank determination step (ST300), in which the stripe defects, having the continuity determined by the continuity determination step (ST200), are identified as a series of stripe-shaped defects and in which the rank of the liquid crystal light valve 112 is determined, on the basis of the quantitative evaluation value of the detected stripe defects. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
