<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve exhaust gas purifying performance as well as flexibility in layout while shortening time until activation even by using an oxygen sensor without a heater, in an engine exhaust system provided with a first catalyst for purifying exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust port of a cylinder head, an exhaust pipe arranged on a farther upstream side of the first catalyst and connected to the exhaust port, and the oxygen sensor attached to the exhaust pipe. <P>SOLUTION: A second catalyst 136 is carried on an inner surface on the farther upstream side of the oxygen sensor 134 in the exhaust passage 135 formed in the exhaust pipe 105. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
