PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for filling a pressurized gas that can simplify the assembly process of a gas generation apparatus. SOLUTION: The method for filling a pressurized gas relates to filling a pressurized gas into a gas generation apparatus comprising a pressurized gas chamber, a gas generation chamber connected to one of the two end openings of the pressurized gas chamber, and a diffuser having a gas discharge port connected to the other end opening of the pressurized gas chamber. The method for filling a pressurized gas comprises a first step for connecting either the gas generation chamber housing or the diffuser to one end of the pressurized gas chamber housing having one opening each on the both ends thereof to close the opening, a second step for disposing the gas generation chamber housing or the diffuser left unconnected in close proximity to the other end opening of the pressurized gas chamber housing so that an annular gap that serves as a gas filling port is formed, a third step for filling the pressurized gas into the gas generation apparatus through the annular gap as formed above, and a fourth step for connecting the gas generation chamber housing or the diffuser left unconnected to the pressurized gas chamber housing to close the annular gap.
