<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can which realizes a satisfactory improvement in a gas replacement efficiency is realized. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of domes 15 recessed radially inward are formed on a barrel 11 at regular intervals at positions in the same axis of the can and at regular intervals along of the same circumference. An area surrounded by every two domes 15 in the direction of the circumference and the two domes 15 adjacent to every two domes 15 in the direction of the axis of the can is defined as a radially inward recess 16. When contents are sealed in the can while a pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure is applied to it, the domes 15 and recesses 16 are deformed radially outward compared to the sates before the contents are sealed in.
