PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color conversion apparatus capable of retaining a black ink version of an image before conversion, in the image after the conversion. SOLUTION: In device link processing, with respect to a look-up table where a color value B1 and a color value B2 are matched, the color value B1 expressed only by a gray control signal is matched with the color value B2 expressed only by a gray control signal. Therefore, when the color value B1 is converted into the color value B2 with reference to the look-up table, in the case of the color value B1 indicating a control signal (0, 0, 0, K) using only gray material, namely indicating a black ink version, the color value B2 of a color pixel after the conversion is also converted into the control signal (0, 0, 0, K) using only gray material. Then, black ink version of an image portion expressed in black ink version in the image formed by a printer A1 is also retained in a printer A2.
