PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation angle sensor failure determination device for a variable valve gear of an internal combustion engine, with reduced cost of a whole system. SOLUTION: An operation angle of a control shaft 16 converted based on a lift amount of an intake valve acquired by a lift amount calculation map from an engine speed N and an intake air amount Q is compared with an operation angle to acquire deviation.
