PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor provided with an oil separator capable of effectively separating lubricating oil from refrigerant (working fluid) even when driven in a high speed rotation region. SOLUTION: This oil separator assembled into the scroll type compressor is provided with a separation chamber 72 provided adjacent to a discharge chamber 58 to introduce refigerant having high pressure from the discharge chamber 58, a separation pipe 88 arranged concentrically in the separation chamber 72, turning the introduced refrigerant around it to separate a part of lubricating oil from the refrigerant, and then guiding the refrigerant toward a discharge port 70, and an oil storage chamber 78 provided below the separation pipe 88 and being continuous with the separation chamber 72. The separation chamber 72 has a reverse tapered-shaped inner peripheral face 98 whose diameter is enlarged toward the oil storage chamber 78. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
