PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of quickly drying wet feet and wet various kinds of pedals without performing a complicated work by an occupant and continuing the drying work during traveling. SOLUTION: This air conditioner 1 for vehicle has a foot outlet 13 to blow air to a foot space in a vehicle cabin. The air conditioner 1 for vehicle is provided with a raindrop sensor 4 (a rain detection means) for detecting rain and snow, door closing detecting sensor 5 (riding detection means) for detecting riding of the occupant and ignition switch 15 (riding detection means), and a control device 3 for starting air blow from the foot outlet 13 when the riding of the occupant is detected by the door closing detecting sensor 5 and the ignition switch 15 and rain and snow are detected by the raindrop sensor 4.
