PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for removing quickly, easily and inexpensively even solid retained in fibers of a filter cloth. SOLUTION: An filter press apparatus is provided with a filter cloth regeneration means constituted so that one filter cloth 9B of a pair of filter clothes 9A, 9B is fixed to one filter plate 4 facing the filter cloth 9B to form the fixed filter cloth 9B, the other filter cloth 9A is set to freely travel in relation to the other filter plate 4 facing the other filter cloth 9A to form the traveling filter cloth 9A, and the filter clothes 9A, 9B are forcedly dried, and an external force is applied to dried cake attached to the filter clothes 9A, 9B to drop the dried cake C1 from the filter cloth.
