<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual inspection method capable of deriving a correct determination result, even when electronic components having different colors or shapes are used together on the same position on a circuit board. <P>SOLUTION: During registration of electronic component data based on image data of an electronic component acquired by imaging, in the case where library data of the same component having a different form exists already, characteristic data of the electronic component which is an inspection object loaded on the circuit board are generated, and the generated characteristic data of the electronic component are also registered as library data. If library data relative to the electronic component exist plurally at the inspection execution time of the circuit board, characteristic data of the electronic component which is the inspection object are generated from image data of the circuit board to be imaged, and the generated characteristic data are compared with the characteristic data in the library data registered beforehand in the library, and the library data of the electronic component matched best with the characteristic data are specified based on a comparison result, and then a prescribed inspection is executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
