<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of color shift of overlapped toner images transferred on an intermediate transfer body, in an image forming apparatus which has a plurality of image carriers, forms toner images in different colors on each image carrier, respectively, overlaps each toner image to the intermediate transfer body to transfer it, and transfers the overlapped image on the intermediate transfer body to a recording medium to obtain a recorded image. <P>SOLUTION: Many toner images are formed on an image carrier 3BK over its peripheral direction, the toner images are transferred to the intermediate transfer body 4 to form reference patterns on the intermediate transfer body 4, many toner image formed on the other image carrier 3Y are transferred to the intermediate transfer body 4 to form patterns on the intermediate transfer body 4, and the position of the rotating direction of the image carrier 3Y with respect to a position in the rotating direction of the image carrier 3BK is adjusted so that displacement between each pattern and each reference pattern becomes the minimum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
