<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver authorization device capable of permitting engine starting when a face picture image of a person seated on the other seat matches with a registered face picture image even when a face picture image of a person seated on a driver's seat is not collated with the registered face picture image. <P>SOLUTION: This driver authorization device is furnished with a camera 5 to pick up the face picture image of the person seated on the driver's seat A in a passenger car and a face picture image of a person seated on an assistant driver's seat B and a control part 4 connected to it. The control part 4 collates the face picture images of the person seated on the driver's seat A and the person seated on the assistant driver's B seat picked up by the camera 5 with the previously registered face picture image.
