PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deceleration control device for a vehicle to control the deceleration by shifting a transmission on the basis of the size of the corner existing ahead, capable of conducting a decelerating control suitable in terms of the stability of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The device to conduct deceleration control by shifting a transmission on the basis of the size 405 of a corner existing ahead of the vehicle, is equipped with a cornering condition presuming means to presume the cornering condition 21 of the vehicle during cornering on the basis of the shape of the corner, the vehicle speed, and the deceleration by the shift range or gear ratio of the transmission, a threshold presuming means to presume the threshold 19 concerning the cornering condition to allow the vehicle to make cornering stably on the basis of the vehicle speed and the deceleration by the shift range or gear ratio of the transmission, and a means to decide whether the deceleration control is required or not or the shift range or gear ratio after shifting of the transmission in case deceleration control is to be conducted on the basis of the presumed cornering condition and the presumed threshold.
