PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of surely feeding paper without causing paper feeding failure such as a paper feeding error or a duplicate feed, and an image forming device having this sheet feeder. SOLUTION: This sheet feeder is characterized by having a sheet feeding member for sending out a sheet, a sheet loading plate arranged so as to be liftable by loading the sheet, and a pushing-up means for pressing the loaded sheet to the sheet feeding member by pushing up the sheet loading plate and having an expandable-contractible member; and is also characterized by having the sheet feeding member for sending out the sheet, the sheet loading plate arranged so as to be liftable by loading the sheet, and the pushing-up means for pressing the loaded sheet to the sheet feeding member by pushing up the loading plate and having an elastic member and an expandable-contractible member.
